What is the deadline I can sue the owner for the payment? In New York City. I'm a contractor. Commercial project

If you're asking about the deadline to file a mechanics lien, that is 8 months from your last substantive (non-punchlist) work. If you're asking about the deadline to sue on the contract, that is 6 years from the bridge, which is generally measured from the date of the first failure to remit payment. Of course, parties are free to shorten this deadline by contract, and if it has been shortened that shortened limitations period ould govern, assuming it is reasonable.

You have 8 months to file a line and 6 years to file breach of contract. the 8 months runs from the last day work, the 6 years from the material breach, usually failure to pay. you should check your contract to make certain the 6 years was not reduced. Best of luck
