Can a homeowner act as a bank inspector?

We have a renovation project scheduled to start soon. We are in the state of Texas. The homeowner knows the lender and the lender is letting the homeowner act as the bank inspector. Is this legit?

You likely do not have a contract with the bank. It is likely that your contract is with the homeowner. So, your contract controls.

The legal analysis would start with a review of your contract, and then extend to any communications which have occurred.

Retain a construction attorney to evaluate your legal situation and to provide advice.
