Can I file a mechanics lien

CaliforniaNotice of Intent to Lien

I was provided excavation services for a contractor but I am not a employee of the company, I was hired for my equipment in which i operate as well because the company’s equipment failed and they could not obtain any rentals withen the projects deadline. I have not been paid and the contractor keeps rescheduling meetings to pay me. The entire project is complete and contact is becoming less .I Wondering if I would be able to file a lien or what options are available or legal action I’m allowed to take.

Based upon the facts provided.  You are a subcontractor and do have lien rights.  Depending on the size of the balance due, I would discuss this further with an attorney.
