Does a subcontractor have to provide a NOC before filing a lien in Florida?

Florida

We have filed NOI and file Mechanics Liens on a few properties in Florida for none payment from the hiring contractor. Are the liens valid even though we did not file a NOC?

Filing a notice of commencement (NOC) in the public records is the owner's responsibility. It is typically prepared by the GC, but it must be signed by the owner. Since you mentioned it, I suggest that you never send a notice of intent (NOI) because many trades and suppliers confuse them for the required notice to owner (NTO). If an NTO is required and not delivered timely there are no lien rights.
