I need help with next steps to Michigan Mechanic's lien.

Texas

We worked as subcontractors on a residential project in Michigan where we were not paid. We are owed $26,547.37 We sent everything within deadlines - A preliminary notice on 11/7/22, a notice of Intent on 12/12/22 The customer keeps sauing that he will pay, but he hasn´t done it. We have eight months left to enforce the lien but we are wondering what we should do? Is it worth it to have an attorney send a letter? If we go to court to enforce the lien, can we do it ourselves. or do we need a lawyer's help? If anyone can help, please advise! thank you

Hire a Michigan attorney and file suit to foreclose your lien.

Since you’re in Texas and they are in Michigan then they are going to stall you out until you quit.

I can help you figure out what your best options are. Give me a call, I can help you either collect or execute the lien process if able. All depends on your state lien laws. I am listed as the #1 collections specialist on here, and are welcome to check my firm out.
