Is there a statute of limitations on a mechanics lien in the state of Ohio

Ohio

Is there a statute of limitations on a mechanics lien in the state of Ohio? My stepfather passed away and they were outstanding medical bills that passed to my mother my mother has since passed away but there seems to be a mechanics lien on her property filed by the state of Ohio for those outstanding medical bills however, the mechanics lien was filed eight years ago is there a statute of limitations? I contacted the attorney that has the case and I have not received a phone call back yet but I’m trying to find out if I can ask them to dismiss it so I can sell the property without having to satisfy that mechanics lien.

Good morning Peggy,

Unfortunately, we specialize in construction mechanics liens which have to do with labor and/or materials on new or remodel construction, so I can't advise you on property liens. I would suggest reaching out to an attorney that would have your best interest, not the attorney that filed the lien. I would look up property attorneys in your area. I wish you the best.
