How do retain a lawyer?

TexasMechanics Lien

Payment and retainage is still not being paid and they are telling me it wont until the law suit with another subcontractor is finished. I need guidance and a local lawyer in Texas to help me.

You really do need to retain a construction attorney to evaluate your documents and situation and to provide advice. The guidance will be tailored to whatever your situation is.

Good luck.

I am located in Dallas.

If you like, you can email me your unpaid invoice and contract, and I will briefly review them at no charge to gauge where you are.

There are various ways to hire a lawyer, but most will involve an upfront deposit or fee. This charge, known as a "retainer," is paid to the lawyer in exchange for legal assistance.

Here are five pointers to help you have a good time and (hopefully) a successful outcome.

Prepare yourself.

Be specific.

Be truthful.

Request clarification.

Keep them updated.
