CaliforniaMechanics LienPreliminary Notice

Hi, I've been doing business without doing these important paperwork steps, I've been getting paid, but am worried of potential non payment on a job I completed a week ago..... This contractor hasn't burned me yet before, question is if he doesn't pay am I screwed or do I have some kind of leverage as it's documented I did the project? Thanks

You are not "screwed" as you can file a breach of contract cause of action against the Prime Contractor. You just won't be able to file a Mechanics Lien against the Property, without having served the preliminary notice.
