What proof do I need that I sent preliminary notice?

Washington

I know that we need to send our preliminary notice to the owner by certified or registered mail. Is the only proof we need to preserve our lien rights the receipt from sending the form? Or do we need to get proof of signature, proof of receipt etc? Or is receipt from the post office that we sent the form by certified/registered mail adequate proof? Thank you!

The statute requires a signed copy of the disclosure statement to be kept in your records. A signed certified mail receipt might be adequate but the statute is specific.
