I have a contract with GC to furnish and install materals on a private commercial project. I havnt been paid for 60 days and I didnt file a Notice of Lien Rights. What should I do?
GeorgiaIndependent subcontractor. Was an employee for EmergiPro of Cedartown geargia. He changed from employees to subcontractors. He refused to pay me for my work and will not allow me to finish my work.
GeorgiaWe are a Florida metal fabrication company working in Georgia for a general contractor. We have found Georgia law that states that subcontractors in traditional specialty trades are exempt from having to hold a contractor's license. What we don't know is if out-of-state subs need a Georgia business license. Thank you for your help.

GeorgiaOur investor group has a UCC Financing Statement, Security Agreement, Bill of Sale and Promissory Note signed by all parties and by notary Shannan Collier Stalvey and recorded with Fayette County Georgia Sheila Studdard Clerk, filed on April 1, 2019. The debtor company holding the purchase and sale agreement with equity around $400,000.00 is in default and likely will be purchased . The debtor company has a Commercial Purchase and Sale Agreement into which the investor group's funds were provided to secure the contract to acquire property. The total investment is $165,000, less 7 months of payments. Others are slapping mechanics liens on the property valued around $1,000.000.00. Can our group lien the property to recover the investment? Is this something you can help us do? Please advise. A closing is scheduled for 3/27/20. Thank you.

Georgiamy GC walked off my project, despite that I had been paying him per agreed schedule. Upon further examination, it turns out that he is not licensed to build, in a state (Georgia) that requires licensure to build (per Secretary of State's office). My project was finished by another GC. The first GC is threatening to file a lien for non-payment of work he did not do (work done by the second GC). Info I found on Levelset states that a non-licensed GC cannot file liens (in GA), but a representative at Levelset stated that it depends on where in GA.
GeorgiaWe are a subcontractor working for a GC on a puplic project .We filed a lien for non payment of change orders authorized(and work supervised) by the GC verbally .We notified the University that we where liening the GC.

GeorgiaWe currently have a contract with Skinner Development, Inc. for an EPA job for Solicitation No. 68HE0C18R0049 - Purchase No. PR-OARM-18-00429 - Athens Environmental Center, 960 College Station Road, Athens, GA 3060. The General Contractor is due on some payments from earlier this year and have not provided status of payment. Since we cannot lien a government property, is there anything else that can be done? We are uncertain if the job is bonded or have any bonds information available to us.

GeorgiaI filed a lien against a customer that is unwilling to pay for services provided. Their attorney sent us a Notice of Contest of Lien. It says we have 60 days to commence a lien action and 30 days to file a notice of commencement. How do I go about this? It is due on April 24th
