Im a general contractor and a painter filed a false lien against me on a job in Louisiana
LouisianaProperty owner is requesting a release of lien for a small payment made a few weeks ago. We are currently awaiting a wire for the full amount owed on the project. Lien deadline is next week. Would a partial release or conditional partial release on past payments effect our lien rights?
FloridaI submitted a lien that contains interest and legal costs and was told to only do a lien for actual cost owed and so I resubmitted a new lien for actual cost . What I need to know is when should I cancel first lien . New lien won’t be in play till sept. 9th
TexasGood aftenoon. A contractor that we do work with, we had to file 2 notice of intent's on yesterday. Today they told us that since they have been notified of it, they will need a signed lien release in order to issue a check. That doesn't sound right. I guess I'm curious if that's something we should consider or if it is common.
ArizonaOur GC placed a mechanic's lien on our property in Colorado 1 year ago and has not taken any further action. We have not paid the lien amount for a number of reasons (construction defects, invalid C/O, etc). From what I understand, the lien has now expired and is presumably unenforceable but still remains of record. What is the process for removal? Does the GC need to remove the lien? If so, what if he refuses to release it?
ColoradoB & B submitted a mechanics lien and received a letter back basically saying that what we submitted is not valid. I'd like to review the letter that we received to make sure that we do not need to release our lien.
PennsylvaniaI believe there is a need for a partial lien release in one of our active jobs. They already paid for $110k of the $150k that is due, but now they have become unresponsive. Can you please educate me on partial payments and lien waivers/releases?
TexasA contractor, who was fully paid for the service to a home, does not pay a subcontractor and now the sub is chasing the owner for less than $1500 and threatening a lien. Does the homeowner have any protection or leverage to challenge the sub? It seems all that is available online is how to protect the sub. But I want to know how to protect me as the homeowner if I have proof the contractor was paid.

AlabamaI signed up for a flat fee listing company to sell my property when i got a offer the owner tied to negotiate with out my knowledge and when he tried to charge me 1176.00 i told him i would not pay him for something i didnt ask for so he threatened a lien..then i contacted the BBB and made complaint he found out and filed a 10.360 lien on my property a( hes a attorney) and his wife is a realtor they own listingly..anyway the BBB said that his threats about putting a lien on my property for filing a complaint is so illegal..and he says if i dont remove complaint he will not remove lien ..i lost my sale becauae of the lien he filed. .plus he wont take my property off the market after i told him too a million times and i also offered him a settlement for half of bill because he wont give me a idemized bill ..HE HIS HIJACKING MY PROPERTY ..the bbb case manager wants to tell him that she knows about the threats and the lien but this guy is a attorney and i cant afford 10,000 to a attorney she told me to complain to state attorney and dept of professional regulation ? What should i do? Thank you
FloridaI obtained the property through now deceased family members and I am trying to obtain a loan for property maintenance. There is a lien on the property but I have documentation indicating the debt was paid off. The company has since gone out of business.

ColoradoI am located in PA and completing AIA G901-2022 for App 5. App 5 is for work through 5/31 for $10,000. Apps 1-3 have been paid. App 4 for work through 4/30, totaling $5,000 remains unpaid. When completing this Conditional Waiver on Progress Payment, shouldn't the unpaid $5k for app 4 be listed as an exception? Thanks!
PennsylvaniaThe owner is in the process of terminating it’s current notice of commencement in order to file new one. Additionally, we as the sub have provided early notice to the owner, prior to furnishing.
